The International Summer Opera and Singing Course will be held in them  Seaside Town of Porthcawl,  from Aug 28th until Sept 8th ,30mins from Cardiff,South wales

The 2010 & 2011 Courses were a great success with 25 singers each year from all over Europe (and a big waiting list for cancellations!!, working with an International staff,with Guest Masterclasses from John Fisher , Director of Welsh National Opera, Doreen O'Neill,Director of Harlequin Agency,Helen Field Soprano, & Dennis O'Neill C.B.E. and Andrew Tidmarsh, RADA.The Gala concerts were in Maesteg,Llanelli and The Porthcawl Pavilion with the Welsh concert Orchestra.

 We are a delighted that International Soprano Helen Field will also give a Masterclass on this year's course. Helen has sang all over the world and in particular for ENO and WNO, and her advice will be unmissable!

 

Doreen O'NEill, Managing Director of International agency'Harlequin will also visit hosting advice from 'Mock Auditions',and will advise students on the best ways to audition and present themselves to Opera Companies. Doreen travels regularly all over the world and is manager to International baritone Bryn Terfel.

The Course is open to all ages from 16. All Students will be given the opportunity to perform in two Gala Concerts  in Porthcawl and Cardiff at the end of the course, with members of the Welsh Concert Orchestra& Piano, attended by agents and Musicians. Staff will include International Conductors, Singers and Directors.

The course is open to Amateurs as well as Music Students and Professionals

Normally the main roles will be given to singers,who are, or have attended Music College,or have been on an Opera Course, or sung in an Opera in the Past. Singers must have the ability to sing in Italian & German. Other roles in Opera  will be allocated according to the singer's ability and voice.
The music must be learnt before the course begins.Singers can also bring with them 2 arias to work with the staff.
All students will perform in the scenes at the Concert.

Singers over 21 £400...Non Residential, but cheap accomodation is available locally.

Singers 16-21 £325

Deposit of £50 to secure a place on the course ( non refundable)

All fees must be paid by June/July 1st 2012 and are non refundable.

    ANTHONY GABRIELE

    Awarded 2nd Prize in the 2011 biennial Blue Danube Musik Impresario (Vienna) International Opera Conducting Competition, hosted this year by the Bulgarian State Opera (Burgas), Anthony has established an international reputation for conducting with tremendous passion born of a profound knowledge and understanding of the repertoire.Anthony works extensively as a freelance conductor, arranger and orchestrator and made his debut with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 2011. He conducted the British Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert of popular classical works, as part of the 2009 London Tower Music Festival and will conduct at the National Theatre of Opera & Ballet Sarajevo, and the Bulgarian State Opera Ruse during the 2011/2012 season.

    Anthony studied conducting, composition, piano and voice at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (Australia) and since 1993 has amassed a prodigious variety of operatic and musical theatre credits as a Music Director, Conductor, Chorus Master, Language Coach, Vocal Coach and Accompanist.
