Can You Sing Rules & Regulations 2009

 

 

  • All contestants must be within the Age Category for their Group on May 31st 2009.
  • Singers are allowed to sing in any language or style( e.g. Music Theatre, Classical, Jazz, Pop,Folk, etc)
  • Singers must state on the Application Form ,if they want to be considered for the additional Classical or Beginners Prize. If a Singer is not offering a Classical Song, they will be permitted to sing a second short Classical piece as well.
  • The adjudicator has the right to stop the performance if it lasts longer than 4 mins.

 

  • The Entry Fee for the 9-11, will be £10; Entry Fee for the 12-14 will be £12; All other Age Groups will be £ 15; Entry to the Duo or Group Competition will be £25
  • The Adjudicator's Decision is Final. No-one is allowed to approach an adjudicator either in or after the Competition about their performance.
  • Results from the preliminary Rounds will be sent out, and publised on the site a few days after the last preliminary round has taken place .
  • All contestants under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • No Piano accompaniment is provide in the First Rounds. Singers can bring their own accompanist, if the venue has a Piano. Backing tracks are permissable,but only a standard CD Player will be available. Singers are allowed to bring their own Players .
  • The Management reserve the right to cancel a Venue,in the unlikely event of the lack of support. 
  • Rules and conditions for the Semi-Final & Final will be given to the successful singers at the same time as the result
  • A Written Adjudication will be available to all unsuccessful candidates
