Patricia O'Neill was born in South Wales,and educated at Cardiff University, Royal College of Music,and National Opera Studio London
Awards: Young Welsh Singers Competition; Peter Stuyvesant Scholarship ;Prize winner at the Bel Canto Concours in Belgium;Osborne Roberts Blue Ribband;Countess of Munster Scholarship;Finalist Kathleen Ferrier Competition.


Opera & Singing Career:
: Glyndebourne Opera Chorus; Dalinda in 'Ariodante' for Handel Opera Company Joined the English National Opera as a Principal in 1980 singing 'Mimi' (La Boheme);Gilda( Rigoletto);Zerlina (Don Giovanni); Antonia (Tales of Hoffman);
3 heroines(The Adventures of Mr. Broucek)
;Euridice( Orfeo);Patience( Gilbert & Sullivan); Xenia (Boris Gudonov);( Makropolis Case)  Marzellina(Fidelio)
Toured with E.N.O. to America, singing 'Gilda in New Orleans and Patience at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.

Scottish Opera
Adina and Gianetta ( L'Elisir D'Amore); Amor (L'Egisto); Bella ( Midsummer Marriage). Toured with the Company to Wiesbaden,Germany, and Venice.
Opera North: Bella in the 'Midsummer Marriage.' by Tippett
Thames Television: 'Bella 'in the film of 'Midsummer Marriage'.

Flanders Opera: Mimi in La Boheme, at Antwerp and Ghent, in Belgium
 
Doyle Carte: Mabel in 'The Pirates of Penzance' on tour and at the Savoy Theatre in London.
Other Companies: Birmingham Touring Opera: Mimi, ;Carl Rosa Company 'Rosalinda' in 'Die Fledermaus'; Crystal Clear Opera 'Madam Butterfly'UK Tour.

Concerts & Broadcasts
Concerts and Recitals at the Purcell Room, Festival Hall. Albert hall ,Barbican,St.David's Hall Cardiff, and abroad in Israel and Belgium,with all Major orchestras. With Grace Bumbry in 'Medea' at the Barbican. Concerts in with the Jerusalem Orchestra, broadcast live.
Regular broadcasts on Welsh Television..B.B.C./S4C/ H.T.V.

Vocal Tutor & Consultant
Patricia has been a Vocal Tutor for over 20 years,working with over a hundred students throughout Wales.
She was also Tutor at the University College Cardiff for 10 years.
She is Vocal Tutor for Howells School Llandaff.
In the past three years alone,55 of her students have achieved  Grade 8 ,with Distinction/ Merit, and 43 at Diploma Level
She has been Vocal Consultant on several programmes on S.4.C.Television  including :'
Datganiad' The Little Sweep' (Britten); 'Cerdd y Cymru'.

Patricia has adjudicated at many festivals including the Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales, and adjudicates again at the Urdd national Eisteddfod in June 2011.
She will join the staff of the Academy of Voice in Cardiff in the Autumn of 2011
(She is a member of the musical 'O'Neill Family';sisters  Doreen O'Neill (Managing Director of Harlequin Agency)  Elizabeth O'Neill;brothers Dennis O'Neill ( International Tenor); late Andrew O'Neill( Award Winning Producer )and Sean O'Neill.
Producer
Patricia is the Producer of 'Can You Sing' and the 'Andrew O'Neill Cabaret Awards. She has recently written a stage play 'The Last Encore', to be produced in the Spring of 2010.
Patricia O'Neill has been presented with a'Woman of the YearAward 2008' from Porthcawl & District ,for High Achievement,during the past year on her work on
'Can You Sing',and an award for her services to the Cultural & Musical  life of the town in 2009.
In the summer of 2009 , Patricia joined the staff of the Carmona International Opera Course
in Spain, as Opera Coach & Scene Director.
In 2010, Patricia began her own International Summer Opera Course, attracting Singers from all over Europe.
In 2011 Patricia will also organise an International Opera Conductors Course, in addition to
producing the Opera Course again, and including a chorus of Children.
In June 2011 ,she will adjudicate at the Urdd National Eisteddfod of Wales
In the Autumn of 2011 she will join the staff of the Academy of Voice in Cardiff
